To complete the closure of your installation, see our protective lids for IBC tanks and our watertight tank caps.

Closing a tank and draining excess water serve different purposes. A cap closes off a fitting, a lid closes the top opening, and an overflow directs excess water to a designated drainage point.

Choose the right part for its location

To close an IBC tank outlet, identify the fitting before ordering a cap. The range includes S60x6, S100x8, BSP threaded and camlock models. The type of connection is just as important as the size. For the top opening, compare the 150 mm and 225 mm lids with the one fitted to your tank.

Solid or vented lid?

A solid lid and a vented model do not serve the same purpose. Ventilation must be suitable for how the tank operates during filling and emptying. Do not block a required vent without checking the manufacturer's specifications. Check the condition of the seal and ensure the sealing surface is clean before reassembly.

What overflow diameter should you choose?

The ribbed overflow fittings available include 19, 25, 32 and 50 mm models. The choice depends on the flow rate to be discharged and the hose used. The connection must follow an unobstructed route, with drainage that does not damage either the tank support or the surrounding area of the building.

Can an overflow replace a tap?

The overflow drains excess water when the tank is full. The tap is used for drawing off or distributing liquid. Allow for each function in your installation and make sure the pipes remain accessible.
