To replace the top lid of an IBC tank, check the diameter and specifications of the opening. The available products include 150 mm and 225 mm models, as well as solid and vented versions.

How do you find a compatible lid?

Compare the original lid with the replacement part you require. Diameter alone is not enough: the thread and seal seating surface must also match. A 1000-litre tank may have a different closure depending on the manufacturer. Check the product specifications rather than choosing solely on the basis of tank capacity.

What is a vented lid used for?

A vented lid allows air to flow in and out as intended by its design. It must be selected according to how the system operates. A solid model is not automatically a suitable replacement for a vented version, and vice versa. Make sure the tank has the necessary ventilation during filling and draining.

Before closing a tank

Clean the rim of the opening, inspect the thread and check the seal. A dirty sealing surface or damaged closure may prevent a proper seal.
