To equip a draw-off point, compare the connection on the tank side with the outlet on the hose side. The range includes taps, fitting-and-tap assemblies, as well as tap connectors. These parts do not all perform the same function within the installation.

Which tap should you install on an IBC tank?

Start by identifying the outlet of the existing valve. An adapter may be required to connect the tank thread to the tap thread. The range includes 3/4-inch chrome-plated brass taps with quick-connect, threaded or hose tail outlets depending on the model. Check what is included in an assembly before ordering a separate adapter.

Quick connector or hose tail outlet

A quick connector makes it easier to attach a compatible accessory. A hose tail outlet accommodates a hose whose diameter must match the fitting. To fill a watering can or bucket, allow sufficient clearance beneath the tap and ensure easy access to its control.

Why does the water flow slowly?

In a gravity-fed system, the flow depends in particular on the water level, the diameter of the passages and pressure losses in the pipework. A tap does not create pressure. Before changing models, check for a blockage, a kinked hose or an overly restrictive fitting.

Maintaining the draw-off point

Check the seals and support the hoses to prevent strain on the fitting.
