For tying operations, choose the strand or rope according to its specified strength and the way the tie will be made. The range includes 6-, 8- and 10-wire strands, as well as an 8 mm rope in a length of 300 m.
What is the difference between the strands available?
The three ranges are distinguished by their number of wires. The strands are sold in 10 kg coils, and their strength varies depending on the product. Compare the detailed specifications rather than choosing solely on the basis of coil weight. To prepare for repetitive operations, also estimate the length required for each tie and the number of ties to be made.
How do you compare rope and strapping?
Rope and strapping are not fastened in the same way and do not exert force on the load in the same manner. The choice depends on the material to be bundled, the contact points and the intended fastening system. Check that the knots or accessories used are suitable for the selected product.
Specified strength and actual use
A specified strength value should not be considered equivalent to a working load or lifting capacity without verification. The conditions of use and fastening method also affect the result.
