With or without a lid?
A drum without a lid cannot provide the same storage function as a closed container. Use it only for applications compatible with this configuration. A model with a lever-lock ring has a lid securing system whose condition must be checked. If you add a closure, make sure it is compatible with the body of the drum.
The range also includes a reconditioned model of around 212 litres with a new lid and locking ring. When comparing products, distinguish between replaced components and those that are reused. The term reconditioned should be considered together with the details specific to each product.
What should you inspect on a second-hand metal drum?
Examine the walls, base, closure areas and the condition of the internal surface. Ask for any available information about the previous contents. Any lining and the preparation of the drum must be suitable for the product you intend to store. The external appearance alone is not sufficient to determine compatibility.
What does UN marking mean?
Some models bear UN marking. The conditions of use must be checked for the specific model, closure and contents concerned. Do not consider this marking as a general approval for all products.
Before use, provide a suitable storage area and handling equipment appropriate for the total weight of the filled drum. Identify the contents and retain the batch information.
