The choice of a strapping tensioner depends on the strap material and width. The range includes a tool for 9 to 19 mm PP strapping and a tensioning tool for widths of 25 or 32 mm.
How do you choose a manual strapping tool?
Identify the type of strapping used, its width and the intended fastening system. The tool must be compatible with all three. A tensioner designed for a range of widths is not automatically suitable for all strapping materials. Check the product specifications to create a compatible system with the buckles or fastening accessories.
What is tensioning used for?
Tensioning pulls the strap tightly around the load to keep the items secured together. The tension must be appropriate for the contents: excessive tension can deform packaging or damage its corners. Stability also depends on the shape of the load, the arrangement of the straps and the strength of the complete system.
Before carrying out a series of strapping operations
Prepare a parcel or pallet that is representative of your intended use. Check how the strap passes through the fastening system, how the tensioner operates and the resulting load security. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and use suitable corner protectors where necessary.
