In 2024, CONTAINERS SERVICE continued its commitment to the responsible management of its packaging, in line with the requirements of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes. Since the implementation of ADEME’s regulations related to EPR, companies in the sector have played a key role in reducing their environmental impact. These obligations encourage producers to optimize the design of their packaging, facilitate its recycling, and promote reuse.

In this context, CONTAINERS SERVICE conducted a full assessment of the packaging used throughout 2024, including the volumes mobilized for its transport and logistics operations.
Today, 55.07% of our packaging used comes from reuse or recycling.
Types of Packaging Used
CONTAINERS SERVICE uses a variety of packaging solutions, divided into four main categories:
- Pallets: A central logistics component, the pallets used follow standard dimensions (80x60, 80x120, 100x120, and 120x120 cm), with custom formats available for specific needs. The majority are reusable.
- Cardboard Boxes: Mainly available in three sizes (60x40, 80x60, and 80x120 cm), these transport boxes are mostly reused. This choice reflects CONTAINERS SERVICE’s commitment to the circular economy.
- Wooden Crates: Used for specific shipments, new wooden crates are nevertheless designed for long-term reuse.
- Plastic Bags and Stretch Film:
Bags (or sleeves): used for long products, they are new and non-reusable.
Stretch film: used for palletizing, is used sparingly at CONTAINERS SERVICE due to its disposable nature.
Logistics Tracking and Transport Modes
The company also recorded the volumes of packaging used across different logistics channels:
- Freight transport
- Workshop deliveries
A global summary of the packaging units was compiled, allowing for better logistics flow management and continued optimization of internal practices.
In total, 7,202 packaging units were used in 2024, of which 3,652 were reused, representing nearly 55.07% of the total.
With this report, CONTAINERS SERVICE reaffirms its commitment to more sustainable logistics practices, focusing on reuse, tailoring packaging to actual needs, and waste reduction — a strategy aligned with today’s environmental challenges and the goals of the EPR framework.
